Southern Marsh Hampton Houndstooth dress shirt (NEW FALL 2011)
The Hampton Houndstooth dress shirt is back. The garment is made with alternating bands of dark and white thread in both warp and weft woven in a simple two-by-two twill, two over the weft, two under the warp, advancing one thread with each pass of the loom. The result is an ultra-soft lightweight cotton fabric in a classic houndstooth pattern. The fabric is then treated with a wrinkle resistant finish making ironing largely unnecessary. Accented with our finely stitched Duck and cut with a traditional fit they make a great addition for any Gentlemen. The new colors that are now available make a great game day shirt!

Bringing you the latest addition to Southern Marsh Collection The Mallard Tattersall dress shirt is sure to be an instant staple in your wardrobe. The fabric is made of softly spun, double-ply cotton, pre-shrunk and finished with an enzyme wash to give the fabric a broken in feel from the first wash. After the fabric was spun, we gave the shirt a classic cut, crafted it with double reinforced stitching and finished with custom laser engraved buttons.

Southern Marsh Water Meter tee (NEW FALL 2011)
The Southern Marsh Water Meter is the latest addition to our Great American Cities collection. The iconic iron water meter cover in New Orleans, Louisiana was invented, and has been continuously made, by The Ford Meter Box Company in Wabash, Indiana since the early 1900s.
Invented by the company's founder, Edwin Ford, the meter box allowed for water gauges to be installed outside of buildings that did not have basements. Up until then, water meters installed in the ground would freeze-over during the cold winter months and fracture; leaving an entire area without water pressure until it could be repaired. This technological breakthrough gave citizens in cities like New Orleans reliable access to public utilities. New Orleans is one of the few cities that had a custom dye made at the Ford foundry to personalize the meter covers throughout Orleans Parish. Designed by the founder himself - Edwin Ford - the star and crescent moon has become an iconic part of New Orleans' culture.

Southern Marsh Jackson Square tee (NEW FALL 2011)
Jackson Square, located in New Orleans, Louisiana is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful city squares in the United States. The design was modeled on the famous Place des Vosges in Paris, France and was designed by architect and landscaper Louis H. Pilié. Originally known in the 18th Century as Place d'Armes, it served as the city center and was a place where all manner of commerce occurred. Merchant ships would stop off at the base of the Mississippi River and bring their cargo into the square to trade with local residents. Shopkeepers relied on the vessels to supply the town with everything from whiskey and tobacco, to exotic foods and spices. In 1814, Place d'Armes was renamed to Jackson Sqaure in honor of General Andrew Jackson after the Battle of New Orleans. Southern Marsh REDFISH Tee
The Redfish is the second installment in the OFFSHORE series and is one of the most popular sport fish in the United States. They are commonly known by several names: Red Drum, Channel Bass, Spot-Tail Bass or colloquially in the marshlands, simply Reds. The Redfish’s most distinguishing mark is a large, coin-sized, black spot on the upper part of the tail’s base. The black spot near their tail helps fool predators into attacking the red drum's tail instead of their head, allowing them to escape relatively unharmed.

Southern Marsh Champions Cup Tee
Horse racing is a type of equine sport that has been practiced and admired by nearly every civilization throughout the ages. The earliest records of such date back to the days of Greek Mythology followed by chariot races in early Roman times. The sport has evolved becoming more complex with giant venues built to house specific breeds whose entire purpose is to race. In North America the most common horse bred to race is the Thoroughbred, whose fitting moniker is The Sport of Kings. Horse racing in the United States has had a rich and colorful history which, like any sport, pits gamblers and governors against one another, the same. The first records of organized races were in Virginia circa 1660s when two horses would race down the town streets. The sport was wildly popular until World War II when the mood of the country had no time for recreation. Horse racing didn’t fully recover from the war until the formation of the Triple Crown which is a series of three races, consisting of the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, and the Belmont Stakes.

Southern Marsh Offshore Tee
Big-game fishing, often referred to as offshore game fishing is a form of recreational blue-water fishing, targeting large fish renowned for their sporting qualities, size, beauty, and fight. Offshore fishing became possible with the advent of the personal motorized watercraft following industrialization. This new found freedom afforded families the ability to take head off for the weekend to the coast and try their hand at a reeling in a big game fish. As the vessels used for sportfishing became larger, longer-ranged and more seaworthy, so did the sportsman’s ability to pursue more exotic game.

BORN ON THE BAYOU TEE
The paddle wheel riverboat was the first ship designed for inland navigation and quickly became renowned for its ability to carry large amounts of weight in shallow water. The Riverboats low draft and wide construction allowed them to be turned into floating hotels and casinos for recreation and were especially popular during the days of prohibition. As industrialization progressed their range became more and more limited as the tall smoke stacks on the boats prevented them from crossing most of the bridges being built throughout the country. The boats that have survived the times usually sit permanently docked on the coastlines of rivers throughout the country.
